With Aberdeen or the Moray coast just over an hours drive and the Cairngorm National Park right on the door step, there is a wide variety of landscapes within easy reach.  For those guests who enjoy the outdoors there are lots of opportunities for walking, mountain biking, skiing and golfing, and nature lovers will delight in the diversity of wildlife on offer from the ptarmigan, grouse and blue hares of the rugged mountaintops of the Cairngorms to the Capercaillie and deer of the ancient Caledonian pines and birch woods.  Follow the castle trail or the distillery trail, or visit the many small but renowned galleries in the area displaying painting sculpture and crafts to suite all tastes. Shooting and fishing can be organised locally, or alternatively simply sit in the garden of Seely Hillocks and relax.
