Comfortably furnished with a tasteful blend of antiques and quality soft furnishings, the sitting room has a lovely seating area centred round a log fire, and elegant dining area ideal for long relaxed meals. The well-equipped kitchen benefits from a farmhouse kitchen table, and together with three comfortable bedrooms, one of which comes with a four-poster bed and ensuite facilities, this delightfully cottage is the perfect base for discovering Angus.
The Angus Glens are justly famous as a location for some great hill walking in unspoilt countryside, and on the coast there are miles of beaches interspersed with rocky sandstone cliffs and headlands Guests can visit Arbroath, famous for its “smokies” and ruined Abbey, as well as Carnoustie, with its championship golf course, or visit the magnificent Glamis Castle, ancestral home of the late Queen Mother and legendary setting for Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Dundee, Scotland’s fourth largest city once a major shipbuilding and manufacturing centre is now has a burgeoning cultural centre and a lively arts scene and home to the Discovery, the ship that took Scott to the Antarctic, and to HMS Unicorn, the oldest British warship still afloat.
