This large elegant holiday property is a much loved Grade C listed family home, which in some parts dates back to the 1580's. Sitting in its own eight acre gardens, Drumblair provides a superb location for family holidays. The furnishings are to an extremely high standard and the exceptionally large and light kitchen/dining room, complete with an Aga, is the perfect for relaxing and enjoying informal evening meals.
The sleeping accommodation, suitable for 12 people, is both very comfortable and flexible as there are a number of adjoining rooms and bathrooms so that larger family parties can be fitted in as they wish. The elegant house has a very homely and welcoming atmosphere, the owners own belongings are in the house and reflect their family history and travels. The drawing room is delightful with an open fire and views across the beautiful garden. There is an additional sitting/TV room with a wood burning fire, next to the kitchen which is ideal for unwinding and warming up after a busy day in the fresh air!
Outside, there is an attractive garden of mixed lawn, woodland and paddock, as well as a lovely walled garden with an orchard, which makes a great spot for picnics. At the back door there is a wonderful paved courtyard complete with a quaint stone 'folly', garden furniture and barbeque for long summer evenings. There is a large games room in an out building which includes a table tennis table and the front garden there is a large trampoline for children to enjoy as well as a restored and listed doocot!
Superb hill and woodland walks can be had around the house and there is a riding stable within a few minutes walk. The Whisky trail is on the doorstep (the nearest distillery - Glendronach - is 400 yards as the crow flies) as is the Castle Trail, famous castles such as Huntly and Fyvie are only a short drive away. Nearby there is also excellent golf and fishing (river, loch and sea) and the sprawling sandy beaches of the Moray coast are only 25 minutes away.
The house is easy to reach being only 40 minutes drive from Aberdeen airport and an hour from Aberdeen city centre, which has excellent shops, restaurants and leisure facilities.
